Before you track an activity using the Runkeeper app on your Apple Watch, you'll be able to choose between several different layouts that emphasize different activity statistics while tracking. You can find these settings by swiping left from your Start screen on the Watch and tapping Layout from your Settings screen. Here are the different layouts that you can choose from:
Layout 1
Layout 1 places your GPS-tracked Distance value at the centre of the screen. This layout allows you to see the total Time of the activity, your Average or Current Pace (depending on your selection on the settings page) and your Heart Rate.
Layout 2
Layout 2 contains the same information as the default layout but switches the placement of your Pace and Distance values so that more emphasis is placed on either your Current or Average Pace.
Layout 3
Selecting Layout 3 will present the total Time of your activity as your main activity statistic. This layout also places the Distance value at the top of the screen, Heart Rate at the bottom right and Average or Current Pace at the bottom left of the watch face.
Layout 4
Layout 4 is similar to Layout 1 but swaps your Heart Rate information with your Cadence (steps per minute) during the activity. Total Time is also displayed at the top of the screen and Pace is displayed at the bottom left. You can still swipe down from this screen (or left on WatchOS 8) to see your heart rate information on the Heart Rate Zones screen.
Layout 5
If you select Layout 5, you'll be able to see both your Current and Average Pace in the left and right corners of the watch face respectively. This layout also displays Distance as the central activity statistic and Time at the top. You can still swipe down from this screen (or left on WatchOS 8) to see your heart rate information on the Heart Rate Zones screen.
Layout 6
Layout 6 was designed for Indoor activity tracking. This layout presents Time as the main activity statistic and displays your Cadence on top and your Heart Rate at the bottom of the watch face. The ideal activity types for this layout are Treadmill Run, Treadmill Walk, and Elliptical.
Layout 7
Layout 7 has also been designed with indoor use in mind and displays your total Time in the center of the watch face with Heart Rate just below it.
Once you select your preferred tracking layout, it will be outlined by a green square on the layout selection screen. After that, you can hit the back arrow at the top left of your watch face to bring you back to your activity settings. Just remember that the layout you have selected will be set for future activities that are the same type until you adjust it.
