On Runkeeper, you can create four types of goals that best meet your fitness and running needs:
1. Achieving a cumulative distance (Total Distance)
- Run, bike, walk or swim a cumulative distance by a set date
- Ex. Bike a total of 50 miles by August 1, 2022
2. Finishing a race
- Complete a running, cycling, walking or triathlon race
- Set the race day by using the 'End Date' option
- Ex. Run a Half Marathon on August 19, 2020
3. Weight Loss
- Input your current weight
- Set your target weight
- Set the end date to determine the time remaining to complete your goal
- Ex. Lose 10 pounds by August 30, 2020
4. Achieve a Target Distance For a Single Activity (Longest Distance)
- Run, bike, walk or swim the longest distance by a set date
- Ex. Complete a 1-mile swim by November 1, 2020
If you're having trouble with a cumulative distance goal where your activities are not adding to your progress, make sure that you have chosen the correct Goal type and did not choose a Target Distance Goal. You cannot set multiple goals within the same category

Ok- the sort of thing I asked for is present in rival app/community strava.com. After each activity, it neatly works out your fastest 1km, 5km 1mile, 100m etc. etc. from within all your way points.
Can you do something like that. To save me having to move across ?
I promise to buy an elite subscription if you implement something like that. Seriously.
Why cant we use mountain biking in the goal activities??? Sure would be nice for you to add that.
and on Bradley's! I want to create specific goals for mountainbiking!
I agree - Endomondo here I come. I really liked Runkeeper but the complete lack of response here makes it clear they really aren't interested in improving their service based on input from their users. Many of the requests on this thread can't possibly be difficult to implement, and if they are difficult then they could at least post a reply letting us know.
I really want to specify a time goal too.
Here's how it would work. Specify an average pace over a specific distance e.g. 4min30 per km over 10km (for ease you could also specify a total time over a specified distance)
Ideally you could have several goals at the same time. e.g. 3min for 1km, 21 min for 5km, 44 min for 10km
Then runkeeper sits and waits for you to upload data. When it gets a new run, it looks to see if you have met any of your goals within splits measured. (or got close).
The fantastic thing about doing it this way, is that a you don't need to stop and start runkeeper like a stopwatch to measure your pace over 5km.
You can start your run, slowly warming up, doing 5k, and then slowing down, recording all your mileage, but runkeeper does the "heavy lifting" of calculating if you have met your goal in the middle of your run.
Please add Crosscountry skiing to the goal activities. I will participate in the Worlds greatest skiirace (Vasaloppet in Sweden) in feb 2013.
It would be great to be able to set a cumulative distance goal for Mountain Biking.
All of you guys should switch to Endomondo - They don't have the "pace" goal yet but they do have alot of other types of goals, challenges and other nice features .. and they seem to care about there users request!
I'm done with runkeeper. I've been paying for there service but I see nothing new to give me value for my money..
I would love my race goal (marathon) to be able to include a time, as I've done one,but I want to run the next one much faster :)
I set a running goal but it isn't tracking my runs. Will goals pick up manually entered runs, since I run on a treadmill normally?
In addition to the numerous request for Mountain Biking goals I would like to add the request for the ability to set Skating goals.
I keep track of my skating (inline) pretty much the same as a cyclist: distance, time, average pace, ... and would love to be able to use the Goal feature in the same way.
Thanks
Just like Krystle I would like to set multiple race goals. I'm running a 10 km and a 15 km race as part of my training for a half marathon.
It would great to be able to set a time goal for a specified route. I often ride the same route and am trying to do it under a certain time, getting a few minutes closer each trip. Setting a goal to ride a specific route in under xx:xx and then showing progress towards that goal would help with motivation!
Bummed that you cant set a mountain goal....
Sorry - this system seems to eat paragraphs, hope you can read my comment,!
I would like to see the feature for a goal that is X distance in Y time. For example 5K distance in 26.30 minutes.
It would be nice that moutain bike could count to cycling goals.
I would like to be able to set a time goal. I am using the Maffetone method (http://www.philmaffetone.com/whatisthemaffetonemethod.cfm) and I have to keep my heart rate in a certain range. I am training for a marathon. I want to set a 3h30 goal, for instance, but with no associated distance.
Todat I deleted my 30Km goal. I woul like to replace it for a 3h30 goal, then, after I achive this one, for a 4h goal.
I'd like to be able to set a time goal for a distance. Any possibility of getting that added as an option?
How do I reset my weight losw goal?
I set a walking goal but I'm showing zero progress after a 2.3KM of walking and I choose walking as the activity.
Thanks
Please add mountain biking to the cycling goal!!!!
+1 on Stephens comment.
Please, insert a set goal to montain biking
One more for combining distance with pace for your goals - and one more for tracking MTB goals
Please add the option of creating goals for other sports. In the winter in AK xc skiing is my primary sport. Thanks!
Can we add a Goal for Wheelchair? I would like to set my goals based on my activity tracking my wheelchair use.
Setting a MTB goal would be very nice! :)
A lot of users are cycling and mountain biking but you can't compare both activities so you just can't select cycling when riding a MTB.
Would be great to be able to add an avg speed over a distance!!
With an elite subscription, can I set goals for time spent and calories burned?
I also like the idea of increased pace and RunKeeper being able to automatically calculate if I made that pace for a given part of a walk/run.
If you are changing goal setting, it might be neat for us to be able to select the types of exercise that count toward a goal. For example, someone could choose elliptical, hiking, and walking to all count towards their total distance goal.
Thank you for a great way to set and achieve exercise goals.
