Join a Challenge
On Android:
- Open the Runkeeper app and tap on the Explore tab on the bottom right of the screen which will take you to the Challenges home page.
On IOS:
- Open the Runkeeper app and tap on the Explore tab on the bottom right of the screen.
- Tap on the Challenges tab (top left of your screen, next to the Races tab) which will take you to the Challenges home page.
Here you will see My Active Challenges (challenges you have opted into and where you can review your progress) and Available Challenges (where you can opt into whatever challenge is available at the time).
Distance Challenges
Each month, multiple distance challenges are made available to users. Completion is based on the cumulative distance of your activities completed throughout each month. Eligible activities will be listed under the Challenge Description when viewing each Challenge. As you complete eligible activities, you will see your progress toward the distance update.
Consistency Challenges
These challenges are about progress over perfection! Weekly Consistency Challenges will require users to complete several activities per week, for the given number of weeks. Criteria may vary from challenge to challenge. We offer 3 types of weekly Consistency Challenges: activity count, time-based, or distance based.
Each week will last 7 days which will be based on the challenge start date. The first three running, walking, and wheelchair activities (any combination) of any distance or duration will earn you a checkmark toward that week. Activities can be logged via GPS, Stopwatch mode or be manually added.
Can I view my progress?
To view progress from previous weeks, select the challenge you would like to view on the challenges page. Then, select View Progress.
Can I join after the first week?
Yes, you sure can! We encourage you to join during the first week of each challenge so you can stay on track and meet your targets. However, any eligible activity completed during the previous week will be counted once you join. We encourage you to manually enter any workouts you completed before joining the in-app challenge if they were not tracked using Runkeeper.
Don’t worry if you don't complete a week. Our aim is to help you build a habit! Continue making progress throughout the challenge to build a habit and look for new Consistency Challenges that become available and enjoy a fresh slate next time!
Notes:
- If your progress is not updating, check that you have tracked your activities using the correct activity type. If everything looks good, log out of the app and back in. Be sure all your activities have had a chance to sync with our servers before you do!
