Connecting Apple Health with Runkeeper
Establishing a connection between Apple Health and Runkeeper will allow you to sync Runkeeper data to Apple Health, as well as to sync data from Apple Health to Runkeeper. This will allow you to view activities in Runkeeper that were recorded with the Workout App on your Apple Watch, or other third-party applications (like Peloton). You’ll be able to automatically import these activities from Apple Health, or manually select which ones you want to import.
Steps to Connect
- Go to your Me tab in the app
- Tap into your Settings (the gear icon)
- Select Apps and Devices
- Tap Apple Health
- Click Connect to Health
- Allow Runkeeper to connect by selecting Turn On All
- Click Done on the Success Screen
Syncing from Runkeeper to Apple Health
- Go to your Me tab in the app
- Tap into your Settings (the gear icon)
- Select Apps and Devices
- Tap Apple Health
- Enable Health Sync
What Data Syncs to Apple Health
- Walking, Running, or Cycling activities completed or logged through the Runkeeper App.
What Data Does Not Sync to Apple Health
- Third-party data (i.e. TomTom, Garmin, COROS, Suunto, etc.)
- Any Runkeeper activity that was NOT tracked on an iOS9 or above device (i.e. iPod, iOS7, iOS6)
- Historical Runkeeper data
- Manually-inputted activities from the Runkeeper website
- Weight
- Pocket Track activities
Syncing from Apple Health to Runkeeper
- Go to your Me tab in the app
- Tap into your Settings (the gear icon)
- Select Apps and Devices
- Tap Apple Health
- Enable Workout Sync
- Enable “Automatic Import” if you want activities in Apple Health to automatically sync to Runkeeper (eg: from Apple Watch Workouts App, or another third-party app)
- Activities recorded in the past 30 days will automatically be imported into Runkeeper
- Click on Import Workout Activities if you want to manually import activities from Apple Health to Runkeeper (eg: from Apple Watch Workouts App, or another third-party app)
- Only activities recorded within the past 30 days will be able to be manually imported into Runkeeper.
- You’ll receive a notification in Runkeeper whenever there are new activities that can be manually imported into Runkeeper.
Disconnecting from Apple Health to Runkeeper
You can disable the syncs between Apple Health and Runkeeper in-app:
- Go to your Me tab in the app
- Tap into your Settings (the gear icon)
- Select Apps and Devices
- Tap Apple Health
- Disable Health Sync and/or Workout Sync
Alternatively, you can fully disconnect Runkeeper from Apple Health:
- Go to your Apple Health App
- Click Sharing
- Click Apps
- Select Runkeeper
- Click Turn Off All
