Pace Goal

Set a goal to hit a certain pace for a certain distance, i.e. "run a 5k in 30 minutes"

Yeah it would help to see how long your run is taking and if you need to acelerate, it would be great if the audio cues, can also tellme if I´m behind the goal pace for the distance

Yes, I would like to set a goal by distance, pace (or total time), and date to reach...or possibly even have goal coach recommendations for this goal based on a designated recent time/ distance run, so that a realistic/safe goal is set.

I think it is a dumb feature - in case it is solved like runtastic. It tells you that you are too slow and five steps later you are too fast even though you haven't changed anything.
Any smart person can simply by the audio cues know if he/she is fast enough or not - it is just mathematics and keeps your brain working.
The only solution I could think of is to turn around the system of audio cues - e.g.: You ran the first 1k in 7min. In order to accomplish the 5k in 30min the audio cue would tell you that you need now a pace of 05:45 min/k

I would love to be able to set a pace goal and then see progress towards this as I complete more runs. Of course, progress to a goal like this shouldn't be counted by my best run ever (e.g. if I manage to pull a 6:00 min/k over 4k and my goal is 5k that's not 80%)

Pace goals while running can jump all over the place as others have noted. It would be nice if somehow the sampling of your pace could be smoothed out. I look at my phone screen and see my pace jump from 12min/mi to 10min/mi and back again in a matter of 200ft or so. Then when the audio cues report my current pace, I'll get readings of as low as 8min/mi when I haven't changed my pace nearly at all.

The biggest issue I see is wanting to know your current pace at any given point without having to set your audio cues to once every 2 minutes or something silly like that. Even every .25 miles is a bit much. But at only every .50 miles, if someone has fallen off pace they may not have the time to make it up. Maybe the real solution is user select-able distance/time points for the audio cues.

This feature is definitely wanted in another form.
The custom workout feature should be enhanced. And each interval addition to the custom workout should be allowed to set specific pace targets.

Yes would like but need audio cues that you can set a time frame of say every two minutes it just says "faster" or "right on pace" or "slower" nothing else just a quick update of how your doing. No need to duck my music/podcast/audiobook any longer than need be.

The current feature as implemented to run at target pace helps.
The average pace is always to be used for calculation of the right pace.
The current pace never works on my phone.
Audio ducking helps.
The current audio cues with ducking isbgood. Perhaps option to change the output with additional figure of avg. Pace could be an option.

Totally agree with this request. I don't care about audio cues that others are talking about though. I simply want to set a goal to run a set distance at a specific pace.

It's hard to believe it's not already there and definitely something I will consider changing to a different running app for.

My goal is to achieve a 5.3km per min pace conistently for my runs. How can I enter this as a goal?? This a basic feature I would expect in my beloved run keeper elite. Please advise status on these requests. Thx

Yes, I would love to have this integrated into the app because I am already setting these types of goals.

Yes please. This is a huge goal for a lot of people trying to beat a 5k or 10k pace, and being able to track your progress towards a specific pace would be hugely helpful. Even if the feature isn't implemented during each workout with audio cues, being able to track your average pace or set a goal for your quickest mile would be amazing.

I like this, my training is centred primarily around improving pace so this would be very useful to me.

I like setting myself goals in RK, and adding pace to my goals would be good. But I have an issue with current pacing jumping all over the place so this needs to be sorted out first. Other devices like the Garmins update current pace every 5 seconds and it remains smooth. When I watch RK on iPhone 6 when running it jumps from 9 to 14 to 10 to 12 to 15 to 9 to 8... it's useless. I can only use the average pace at the end calculated form total distance over time.

Similar to this, a "Race yourself" would be a neat function of the pace goal. If you're going slower than last time, send an audio cue. If you're going faster, same.

Yes please. I think there is a lot they can do with the goal setting to make vast improvements in RunKeeper.

I would love to have this as a goal option in addition to the total distance, race, etc. It would be helpful to see progress over time towards a better pace. Would probably have to be specific to a certain distance as well (not just a 6min/mile, but a 6min/mile over a 5k run, etc.)

Fabulous-- Would love to compete against my self definitely with audio cues or option to turn them off.

Very frustrating that the training plans do not support the pace goals. There is no training plans for improving better than 5km less than 30 minutes or better than 10km less than 55 minutes.

I have input a goal for 5 km in 25 minutes fut the suggested trainings each week repeat and are simple steady runs which are not helping me improve my pace.
