Import/Create Your Own Training Plan

If you'd like to import a training plan you've gotten from your trainer, set up a plan you created yourself, etc., let us know here and make sure to upvote!

I really like the in-app ability to create a custom workout. Especially the interval option is useful for defining a specific workout that fits my current training regime. However, I have to do this in-app and not on my desktop, which is kind of irritating. I expect the desktop experience to be richer than the in-app experience. I would also like to create several such workouts and put them in a training plan similar to the ones I can subscribe to; a custom training plan. So I would like two things: 1) Implement the "create workout" function in the desktop environment. 2) Make it possible to create multiple workouts and put them in a custom training plan.

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to add a workout based on heart rate zones?

I'm currently in a running group preparing for a marathon.
Now I am using a gps watch wich can load in my coach his training plan based on heart rate zones and sometimes also running speeds.

But I also have an apple watch and would like to use this as my main device, so I'm looking for an app that can integrate the workouts of my schedule and connects with the apple watch.

An example of a workout based on heart rate would be:
3 minutes warmup running in heart rate zone 1
60 minutes running in heart rate zone 2
10 minutes running in heart rate zone 3
5 minutes running in heart rate zone 4
5 minutes running in heart rate zone 2
3 minutes cooling down running in heart rate zone 1

An example of a workout wich also has speed training would be:
4 km running in heart rate zone 2
3 sets of:
1 km running at 4.45 min/km
2 km running in heart rate zone 2
and the finaly:
1 km running in heart rate zone 2

  1. Is this something that would be possible?
  2. if not, are you planning on stuff like this?
  3. Will you make use of access to the heart rate monitor of the apple watch in Watch OS2?

This feature would be wonderful!! I use the Hal Higdon training plans for a lot of races and I wish i could schedule those runs for myself in RunKeeper!

I have specific training programs that I'm following and would like the ability to enter my own. For example, I'm training for the B.A.A. half and they have 3 programs tailored to ability. It would be great to be able to add on my own or better yet, choose that as an option.

I'm in the Army, so most of my running is focused on improving my 2 mile run. I would like for the training plans to not only focuses on achieving a certain distance, but a time goal.

I love this app and site. It's remarkable and one of the best that I have tried (it's a long list). But, gosh dang I want to have my own training plan involved. I am making it work with the in-app create a custom workout - but, I am a desk top type of person. :)

Actually I'm waiting for this feature. I've tried some build in plans, but they didn't work for me. My coach made a plan for me, but I found it hard to keep track of everything while running.

the current standard training plans do not cover the possibility to get a training plan for a (half) marathon at a fast pace like 1h 30 minutes or so. and it would be great if in the training plans per kind of training the pace is included.

I'd like to be able to create my own training activity as was available in the FREE Runkeeper prior to the most recent update. If this is still available, please give instructions as to how to accomplish this. I do not want to purchase Runkeeper until I know for certain this can be done.

I would love to be able to create my own training plan based on existing workouts, either in-app or with web site, based on the way custom plans are set up (I can pick my own day, week by week). I really like how the app is set up now, great job!

Yes please, I just finished one of your marathon plans and that was great but I am now looking to follow my own plans. If this app can't do it, I will sadly be looking for another. Prefer to stick with RunKeeper. We have a good thing going:}

I'd love to be able to create custom workout plans with intervals online through the site and then have them sync to my phone. As it is it's a bit of a pain to do it as a custom activity each time on your phone.

The possibility of inputting my own training plan would greatly improve the userfriendliness of Runkeeper. Now I have to keep track of my training plan the oldfashioned way (paper or spreadsheet) and put in the training moments one by one. It seems to me a standard feature within the concept of Runkeeper.

I would also really like this feature. I loved the intermediate half marathon plan, but none of the current plans free or not are what I'm looking for in my next training period. I'd love to be able to make my own.

Yes please! I have a cardio/weights plan I would like to use runkeeper for - I'm forced to use another app to monitor what I have to do and then import the activities separately into Runkeeper which is very time consuming

I use a different training plan than those in RunKeeper and the ability to load it into the app would be a great advantage, even if it only came with GO. I would definitely continue my GO membership because of it. Otherwise I'm skipping training runs or having to associate runs that don't match just to mark off the plan in RunKeeper. However, I like the reminders that I have a run coming up.

Yes I would love to add, workouts for non running days, i.e. weight lifting , yoga etc. on non-running days.

Please this is a much needed feature. For example, my dad is heavily overweight with vascular problems and can't run. If I could create a custom walking program for him, it would get him moving to build up to a running program. Currently, there's no good options for keeping him moving without my bugging him

Would be hugely helpful. One of the main differentiators for RK is the integration with the pre-existing workout plans and the app itself -- i.e. interval and distance notifications, etc. The ability to input your own custom plan, and have that reflected in the app and calendar would be a big, big win.

I'd like to be able to track what workout was used for what run, so I can compare those runs & see progress. For example, am I getting faster at my 6x400 interval runs or not?

Yes! I would like to build my own training plans which is a compilation of my workouts. Id also like to share these plans with others and import plans built by others.
